‘MEMORY OF NOW’ Rhyming Poetry

MEMORY OF NOW

© Luke Openshaw

You remind me kindly
of a girl I used to know
the same beautiful eyes
the same radiant glow.
You refuse to know me
you just say let me be
but there is something about your mystery
that tells me we have a history.
I know you get this all the time
this is human nature not a crime
I will not linger but I cannot sleep
no wolf to stalk the flock of sheep.
I am not talking to you for my health
but I’m very happy to repeat myself.
You remind me kindly of a girl I used to know…
